Dunbar Defeats Edmondson for Baltimore City Divison I Championship (Video)

Earlier this week Baltimore High School rivals Dunbar Poets (21-2) took on the Edmondson Red Storm (17-5) for the Boys Basketball Baltimore City Division I Championship. The two teams met in January of this year in a double OT victory by Dunbar 82-75. Now they link up again at Morgan State University for Baltimore City bragging rights. In a thriller that came down to two final possessions (4th quarter and OT), Edmondson senior guard Isaiah Tripp had a career game, scoring 35 points and keeping Edmondson in the game throughout. In the end, however, Dunbar star guard Daxter Miles was the hero in overtime. Miles scored 24 points overall and four in the last 27 seconds of overtime, including the game-winning three-pointer with 12 seconds remaining defeating Edmondson yet again in a nail biter 74-71 victory. Dunbar Poets moved on to be back to back Baltimore City Champs in yet another instant classic in Baltimore High School Basketball.  Checkout a few highlights below bought to you by The Archives.
