Kendrick Lamar "The Heart Part 4"

Uh oh!!! Just 5 days after Drake drops his new album "More Life"...Today Kendrick Lamar mysteriously posted the Roman numeral "IV" on his Instagram as well as wiping his entire page clean with his "IV" post the only image on his feed.  It's been said that K. Dot has had the desire to release a new project. Earlier this month in an interview with T: The New York Times Style magazine, Lamar spoke on what inspired his forthcoming LP.

“I think now, how wayward things have gone within the past few months, my focus is ultimately going back to my community and the other communities around the world where they’re doing the groundwork,” he said. “To Pimp a Butterfly was addressing the problem. I’m in a space now where I’m not addressing the problem anymore. We’re in a time where we exclude one major component out of this whole thing called life: God. Nobody speaks on it because it’s almost in conflict with what’s going on in the world when you talk about politics and government and the system.”
At the time of the interview, he was asked if these topics would influence his new material. His reply: “It’s very urgent.”

This record starts off with the same feeling from his previous release "To Pimp A Butterfly". Very smooth. This it quickly transitions to a very aggressive record where he addresses real life issues such as the newly elected POTUS, Donald Trump.  "The whole world gone mad/ bodies is adding up/markets about to crash/niggaz is fake rich/bitches are fake bad/blacks that act white/Whites that do the dab/Donald Trump is a chump/know how we feel, punk..." K. Dot spoke on a lot things that most artist are scared to speak on. "The electoral votes, look like memorial votes/but America's truth ain't ignoring the votes...", he says.  This track was like a three in one.. and a great way to warm up to something greater. Hip Hop has returned. As Kendrick raps over a deep rolling baseline, his verse is compacted with tons of quotables. So many memorable lines, but you cannot ignore how he ended it "You got til April the 7th to get your shit together..." Such a short notice for the hip hop world.

Kendrick is scheduled to headline both weekends of Coachella on April 16 and April 23, so it wouldn’t be surprising if he had new material ready by the festival.
