Mr. Earthtone himself...Big Dro born and raised in the Westside of Baltimore. The name "Big Dro" some what compared to an illegal substance, describes the natural high you get when you hear his music. Most people know Dro for the earthtone colors he wears. He's also known as "Earthtone Dro" or "The Cloud of Smoke". Because of the love he has for music in general, Big Dro has always wanted to become a Dj. But after spending six months in a voluntary military academy in Aberdeen, MD, he had nothing but time to start writing poems. Since then, he's developed his own style of writing and began to translate his poems song lyrics. He defines his style as R.A.P. (Rhythm And Poetry), exactly what it is and sounds like. Over the years he's gained a passion for Jazz music. So he tends to blend his style with a smooth jazzy feel. Dro has always been inspired by 2pac's music, which has helped him create his art of story telling. Growing up he listened to artist such as Jay-Z, Method Man, DMX, OutKast, Snoop, Common, Busta Rhymes, Bone Thugs n Harmony, Mos Def and Ice Cube. To this day he's inspired by J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Big K.R.I.T., Kanye West, Drake, and still 2pac. He also obtains motivation from other local artist in his home city. Dro has created an outstanding following over the years.

In 2002, He and Street Scott formed a music group by the name of "Team Arson" or "T.A.G.M.G.". Team Arson Music Group is more of label than a group. This music group contains a host of several artist, producers, engineers and designers. They have been very successful throughout the years. Big Dro also represents "TrapRock Radio" which is a brand that helps promote his craft established by his Dj CraiGo Gettems.

During the fourth quarter of 2009, Big Dro released "Elevator Music (Underground Floor)" a mixtape with another artist by the name "Ollie V.O.S.O." where both artist transformed industry tracks into their own original songs. This mixtape contain features from other Team Arson artist such as PenDragon, Nova Starz, Street Scott, Jase, Ase & Pharaoh Ze'.

Christmas of 2010 they released "Elevator Music (Gift Rapped)" mixtape, which was short, simple and very festival for the holiday season. It featured other Team Arson artist such as PenDragon, Jase, Channel Q, Ase & Jae Poet.

Every now and then there is a happening that signals a shift in American culture. During a time when popular music has been reduced to mostly formula and process, Emmanuel Moss p.k.a. DDm, effortlessly breaks that mold. The Baltimore native, who made his name on the local battle rap circuit, manages to straddle the fence between cool kid and weirdo with a charming accessibility. In 2009 DDm experienced a personal rebirth which brought about a fresh and unique dynamic to his artistry. Fusing together baltimore club, hip hop and ball culture, the self proclaimed renegade, is garnering significant critical acclaim with his mixtape series 'Muse: A Collection Of Cool'. The hypnotic lead single 'Velvet Limousine', with its sassy chorus and drum and bass influenced production, is a catchy and witty ode to the female anatomy. Featured in the CityPaper for the tracks accompanying music video, Dappa Dan Midas (DDm) is being championed as the most significant vocalist for Baltimore club since local legends Ms. Tony and Jimmy Jones. After several career stalls, including a bout with homelessness, he is finally ready to present his debut solo project 'American Graffiti'. Coined as a mixture of celebration and reflection, the ten song set is highly anticipated in the DMV.

It has been stated that Hip Hop is more than just a culture, more than just a sound, that it is a vehicle for life as complex as a fully grown woman. Sadly, however, that woman has been corrupted.

She who once breathed light into the minds of the youth has been silenced with words colored pitch black in darkness--empty in meaning, empty in thought. In the words of Nasir Jones: Hip Hop is Dead.

And the killers are amongst us, profiting.

In such turmoil, the teenaged Jay Verze has grabbed hold of the microphone with dreams of rekindling the simmered out torch with an inferno of original lyrics and a message that transcends all age barriers--death is not the end. He intends to animate the lifeless beauty, Hip Hop, in his own way with his own style.

Inspired at a young age by the soulful music that his Father filled their home with, years later, he decided to form a band with his friend. This was the beginning of his love affair with music. And like all love stories, things only grew more intense from there.

From the electric drum kit he received at seven to that snowy winter day when his pen first touched paper, music, Hip Hop, had claimed him as her own.

In 2005, he took things to another level. He grew his musical aptitude by taking keyboard lessons and learning how to play the trumpet. That same year, a very important event took place in his life--a talent show. With hopeful stars in his eyes, he signed up to audition.

Sadly, he could not make the cut.

It was very difficult for him to overcome this lack of recognition as it lingered in his mind as a sign of poor skill.

"Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it." - Michael Jordan

Jay Verze was not content with failure and he came back stronger than ever!

In five short years later, August, he released his first mixtape.

It received well over 2,500 downloads and was quickly followed up by his sophomore mixtape "Hip Hop, Life, America"--the latter of the two displaying a more mature side that the audience had yet to see.

After coming so far, with his microphone in hand, he still stands with one goal--perfecting the craft he knows and loves. His newest project "21117 (Two-Eleven-seventeen)" will be the result of all the experience that he's collected since starting his journey.

Now, only one question remains...

Are the lifeless of 2012 ready to become animated?

Upcoming Baltimore Hip Hop Artist Just Jones spits a quick 16... on the road to The Cypher Part Deux .. will be held on March 24th from 7-10pm at PedX Baltimore 1715 Aliceanna Street Baltimore MD

During the year of 2007, Luminarty's naturally well-groomed lyrical talent was recognized locally throughout the open mic scene in the DMV area. So much so that MizFitz Soundz, an acclaimed production company out of Baltimore, could not pass on the opportunity to acquire such a versatile artist. First spotted by long-time friend & renowned producer FMajor, Luminarty was sure to be an acquisition made for success. He would go on to put out a solo project entitled "You Should Be Watching vol. 1" that undoubtedly expressed his wordplay prowess. He then linked up with fellow team member & power house rapper Laced to drop a high energy mixtape called "LSD: Lyrics, Swagger & Delivery" which is currently
heating up the Metropolitan area. When he's not perfecting his craft behind a pen & pad, he's leveling crowds across the east coast with energetic and entertaining performances. From Dc to Va and Philly to New York, one thing remains constant: Luminarty is no gimmick drenched flash in the pan artist. His ability to give listeners what they want out of an emcee is something that is simply needed in today's industry.
