New Orleans Hornets Wins 2012 Draft Lottery

Hornets Head Coach Monty Williams

Today was a very big day for The New Orleans Hornets won the 2012 NBA Draft Lottery in New York City on Wednesday night, earning the right to select the consensus No. 1 overall pick in this year's class, University of Kentucky big man Anthony Davis (seen in the pic below).

The Hornets were early this season was owned by the NBA before agreeing to sales with New Orleans Saints owner Tom Benson.Prior to entering the NBA Lottery the Hornets franchise with a record of 21-45 had a 13.7 percent chance of earning the No. 1 selection and was actually pre-ranked to pick at the No.4 Selection. The Hornets were represented at the Lottery by coach Monty Williams.Last time the Hornets had the No. 1 pick it was 1991, when they were still in Charlotte and took Larry Johnson. Here in 2012 it seems the No. 1 pick overall certainly will use to pick Kentucky star Anthony Davis. This is definitely a big deal for the city of New Orleans after going through the many suspensions of players, coaches, and turmoil around they beloved New Orleans Saints last month.Checkout the New Orleans Hornets new recruit Anthony Davis highlights below from this past year at Kentucky presented by The Archives.
