Allyson Felix Grabs Gold in 200 meters (Track & Field)

Third time's a charm for the Los Angeles native Allyson Felix. After getting a silver medal in Athens and a fifth place finish in Beijing she grabs Gold here in London. Felix won the 200 meters individual in 21.88 seconds beating out 100 meter Gold medalist Jamaica's Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Silver medalist Team USA's Carmelita Jeter. Felix felt in her past Olympic competition she wasn't as devoted in her training and this time around she focused on herself first putting in the dedication. Allyson Felix glided toward the lead in the 200 meters. It turns out she resents such descriptions when the work is so hard. "I'm very strong," Felix would say later that night. But she does glide. U.S. track and field athletes win three of four events and seven of 12 medals Wednesday. It's no doubt Allyson Felix redemption and victory was the bright story of today's events.
